Ventura County Film Festival Southern California's Most Significant Cinema Showcase

The Ventura Film Festival originated in 2004 and has displayed hundreds of movies, commonly surpassing 200 films each summer, and has captured notice from the international cinematic community. Notable moments have included showcasing renowned filmmaker Dylan O'Neil, the pioneering world champion surfers Peter "PT" Townend together with Ian Cairns, four-time world champion Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/mixed martial arts fighter Fabio Leopoldo, and the golden anniversary celebration of West Side Story, which included hosting the complete Oscar-winning ensemble of West Side Story, including Academy Award winner/Golden Globe winner George Chakiris and legendary actor Golden Globe winner/Oscar-nominated Russ Tamblyn. The founding executive director of the Ventura Film Festival was chosen to participate, along with several of Hollywood's premier talents, in the 50th Anniversary tribute of West Side Story and Hollywood's footprint/handprint ceremony for Oscar winners Rita Moreno, George read more Chakiris, as well as Golden Globe award winner Russ Tamblyn at the historic Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
